Never Alone

Have you ever felt lonely? You know, that overwhelming feeling of darkness that tempts you to believe that no one cares. Friend, loneliness has become an epidemic in our country. We are the most connected generation that has ever walked the face of the planet and at the exact same time we are the loneliest we have ever been. Why? Because people crave authentic connection. We want to be known.

The good news is that you are known and you always have been. In the 139th Chapter of the Book of Psalms in the Bible, the author David, says this, “Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence?” He goes on to say that God is with Him everywhere he goes. Even when he wants to hide from God, He is right there with him. This is a fascinating part of being a believer in Jesus Christ. Like we learned yesterday, we never have to be alone again.

You see, just like there are three parts to us, the God we serve is a triune God. You may have heard Him called God the Father, Jesus the Son and Holy Ghost or Holy Spirit. Most of us are familiar with God and through our new faith in Jesus we may be comfortable with Him too. But, who is the Holy Spirit and how will that help me not feel alone?

This is the best part. Holy Spirit is the third part of the Trinity. When you and I accepted Jesus as our Savior, the Holy Spirit took up residence in our spirit when we became born again. The Bible calls Him many names from comforter to counselor. In fact, when Jesus was returning to heaven and His disciples were sad, He told them that it was actually better if He went away, because God was going to send a helper. That helper is the Holy Spirit. He is with you and will guide you, lead you and comfort you. In fact, it was the Holy Spirit that that led you to the place of accepting Jesus as your Savior. You, my friend, will never be alone again.

Today, read John 16 and experience Jesus telling the disciples about the Holy Spirit
